James William Briggs, II died in Sugar Land, Texas on April 11, 2012 of complications from diabetes. He was 63. Mr. Briggs was born on March 10, 1949 to Lorna and Lee Briggs of Milliken, Colorado. He worked for I.H.S. Energy group in Houston for 36 years. He was predeceased by both parents and his older brother, Thomas Briggs. He is survived by his sister, Barbara and her husband, Clifford Miercort of Dallas; Nephews Kevin York of Aurora, Colorado; David Miercort of Los Angeles; Lee R. Briggs of Fairfax Virginia; nieces Teressa Bartlett of Keensburg, Colorado; Jennifer Turkyilmaz of Dallas, and Lisa Napier of Alexandria, Virginia; as well as his devoted friends, Timothy Sutton and Bonnie Riley who cared for him during his last illness. Following cremation, Mr. Briggs will be interred in the family plot in Johnston, Colorado. A Memorial Service will be held in the Morrow Chapel at The Settegast-Kopf Co @ Sugar Creek, 15015 Southwest Freeway (Williams Trace Exit), Sugar Land, Texas 77478, at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 14, 2012.
