Jan was an amazing, genuine person with whom
I’m proud to have been associated with professionally, and someone who I shall
always treasure as a trusted mentor.   While I only worked for her during a three-year hiatus from the military, it certainly seemed longer than that — and for all the right reasons.   

Requiescat in pace, dear lady.

My heart breaks for any who knew Jan.  This Lady gave me the opportunity of a lifetime when she hired me (probably the least qualified applicant ever) and I am grateful that she saw something in me.  I have worked to prove to her that her decision was not wasted.  I find comfort in the ancient words recorded at Revelation 21: 3-4 where the Apostle John describes his vision of things to come.  "With that I  heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them.  4 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”   My comfort is that some day, I have the opportunity to see My loved ones along with People like Jan resurrected to a Paradise Earth.....as was originally intended.  Rest Jan until we see you again.  Love Mike

Jan will surely be missed by everyone who knew her including the entire community. When I was the MoCity city manager, the police chief, the police officers, the mayor and council, and anyone who had dealings with the MCPD, understood that in many ways she was the foundation for the  administrative operations and public interface of the department. She was always friendly, supportive, engaging, and outreaching -- whatever it took to ensure the success of the MCPD. After her retirement,  she remained the same ol Jan whenever we saw her and Dick at various functions around the city. God bless Jan, Dick, and family. RIP Jan.

This lovely Lady I referred to as "Boss" gave me the opportunity to work with a great organization, when she took a chance and hired me in "Dispatch".   I have worked to prove that she did not make a mistake by doing so....Jan will have a special place in my heart for giving me that chance.   She provided "Tough Love" for one that needed it...Enjoy your rest my lovely lady.  I find comfort in an ancient scripture written more than 2000 years ago that applies to us today.  Revelation 21: 4   " And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”  Passed because the Earth will be transformed into a Paradise as was originally intended.  Jan will certainly be awarded a resurrection into this Paradise Earth....Rest until that day.....you have earned it.

Jan was like a Mother to all of us. When I needed help or information she was there. My condolences to the family from Nachy and I. Rest in peace, my friend forever.

My dearest Aunt meant so much to me, forever. She was the life of the party. I will miss her. Dick, Tracy, Joe and Bailey are all in my prayers. She will be missed by all that knew her.  She was a person that got really involved with her family and her community.  ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Spending time with Jan and with Dick has always been a pleasure. Jan was a sweet and fun friend, and will be greatly missed.  We (Bill and I) spent time with Jan and Dick at various events, particularly at the annual Police and Fire Auxiliary fundraisers, and more recently at monthly dinners attended by former City of Missouri City workers. Jan was warm, welcoming, and a delight. My heart hurts for Dick, Tracy, and the family. With sympathy and prayers for comfort, I offer condolences.

Jan was a special lady and a special friend. I will miss her emails and support she gave me over my 32 years in office. I also have enjoyed being with you both at our "retiree" dinners. Hope to do those again soon so we can talk about our good days with Jan. Jane and I send you our prayers and thought along with the entire family during this difficult time for all of you. Jan hired me as a dispatcher,  almost sight unseen. She was a wonderful supervisor, always encouraging us to do our very best. She persuaded me to try the police academy, and if I didn't like it well. The rest is history!!

I lost my mom to cancer on November 29th 2020. Its a very hard thing to deal with. The heartache doesn't seem to go away, but at least there is no more pain and suffering.  Revelation 21:4 is comforting to know Gods promise of this.  My thoughts and prayers are with the family.   Dick, even though my "mic"  has been retired, I still remember all the wonderful times we had!   Stay strong and safe my friend.   Retired police detective,  Marilyn Stepp 152

Jan was our Mother at work for many years. She was always there with a smile and willing to help everyone. She was the Boss behind the scene and guided many of us in our careers. My condolences to the family. Rest in peace Jan, you will always be in our heart.

We are so sorry for your loss, we loved Jan so much she was a very special lady and we will all miss her.

Momma Jan, as I affectionately called her, was one of a kind. God definitely broke the mold when he created her. Jan's sweet demeanor, never ending smile, sweet hugs and laughter will be missed. 

Rest well in God's loving arms. 

Jan has been a long time friend......since 1963. We raised our kids together for many years. Worked with Don at MCPD and was responsible for getting me a job at MCPD. We will miss her. Heaven gained an angel to watch over all of us. RIP my friend.
