Jennifer Berger Young

June 6, 1965May 28, 2012

JENNIFER BERGER YOUNG, with a true sense of history born on D-Day, passed away on Memorial Day at The Methodist Hospital, after a long struggle with illness. For those family and friends who mourn her, a light has surely gone out in the world. Jennifer was a graduate of Bellaire High School and went on to obtain her Bachelors and Law Degrees from the University of Houston. Following her graduation she had a distinguished career as an attorney with Aetna Insurance Company. Words are too small to convey her kindness, generosity, intellect, wit, and courage, which she shared with her family and friends. She will be buried with her beloved Mark who died in 2003. She leaves her dear brother, Erik; and her parents, Dr. Sidney and Sandra Berger; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 2, 2012, at The Settegast-Kopf Co. @ Sugar Creek, 15015 Southwest Freeway, Sugar Land, (Williams Trace Exit). Interment will follow at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, June 5, 2012, at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston.

My sincerest condolences to the Berger family. Jennifer shined in all that she did. Her instant wit made me laugh all the way through college and to this day when I think of her, I smile. She touched me in such a positive way like she did all who knew her. I'm so grateful for the time we spent together.

Jennifer Berger Young, you were one of the best people I have ever known. A true friend and at total one of a kind. Your kindness and great humour - everything about you - I will always remember. You are dearly loved and will be seriously missed. Thank you for everything you did for me. I will always love you.

I am so sorry to hear this news. I will never forget Jennifer's kindness to me when I was a new student in the middle of the year in 9th grade at Johnston. She was a great friend and I deeply regret us losing contact over the years after I left Houston. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and all of those who feel her loss.

Dear Dr. and Mrs Berger and Erik,

I am so sorry for your loss. I will always remember Jennifer from Bellaire days with her radiant smile, keen wit and long yellow hair catching more than it's fair share of the sunlight. She will live on in my heart.

Dr. and Mrs. Berger and Erik,
My wife and I are especially sorry for your loss! Jennifer was a very special person to us. She was close friends with my wife, Michelle, when they both lived in Dallas. Jennifer introduced me to Michelle on a blind date. And later, it was at one of our Christmas parties that Jennifer and Mark met. Although we had lost contact in the past few years, Jennifer will always be close to our hearts. She gave us so much and we will never forget her.

I knew Jennifer because she was Christine Gray's (my niece) best friend. Jennifer was always positive, funny, smart, and lovable. I will miss her but will always remember her beautiful spirit.

To Jennifer's parents and brother -
I had the pleasure of working with Jennifer in Aetna's legal department. Although I only had the chance to meet her a few times as we were in different offices, I remember her kindness. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.

Dr. and Mrs. Berger and Erik-

I am saddened by Jennifer's passing. My fondest memories of her are of her radiant smile, joyful laughter and wonderful sense of humor. I remember her and mark's first meeting. It was readily apparent as love at first sight.

Jennifer will be dearly missed. When we spoke she would always relive the "old days" as she would put it. Of the wonderful times we spent together in Houston and New Orleans. She was so beautiful inside and out. She has done so much for so many and I will miss her so. I know she is in a better place now with her sweetheart, Mark. My prayers go out to you.
