Jody’s loves were music, children, her family, and friends. She was graced with a magnificent voice and sought to bring joy to everyone through this gift.
Jody grew up in Alief, Texas attending Alief Hastings High School until 1994. She excelled at TMEA and was a proud member of the Show Choir.
Jody attended Houston Baptist University on a George Foundation Scholarship as a Vocal Performance Major with an opera specialization from 2001 to 2004. While at HBU she was able to sing Handel’s Messiah in Carnegie Hall with HBU’s Schola Cantorum, as-well-as playing roles in the operas: Gianni Schicchi, Carmen, and The Marriage of Figaro.
Jody left HBU to pursue her dream of singing on Broadway. Her time in New York was limited as cancer pulled her back to Houston for treatment at MD Anderson. During her courageous fight, she was able to connect with many new friends from whom she gained the strength to continue her fight.
Jody is survived by her grandparents, Alvin and Ruth Jordan; her father and step-mother, Randy and Annette Jordan; her mother and step-father, Vivian (Susie) and Tommy Aldridge; sister and brother-in-law, Brandy and Scott Clarke; brother, Keith Horn; brother and fiancé, William Horn and Tamara Carter; nieces, Kourtney and Bailey; and nephews, Jonathan, Brendon, Matthew, Ethan, Peyton, and Aiden; and many wonderful aunts, an uncle, and cousins.
