

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Scott Washington, age 56, of Lexington, KY, who left this world on March 3, 2025. Born on August 29, 1968, John was an extraordinary man whose passion for life, family, and his work as an executive chef touched the hearts of many.
John had a true love for cooking, a skill that he not only excelled at professionally but also enjoyed sharing with his family and friends. Whether it was preparing meals for loved ones or simply spending time outdoors fishing, John found joy in the simple pleasures of life. His kind heart and willingness to help others were evident to all who knew him, and he cherished every opportunity to lend a hand.
A member of the Church of Christ, John lived a life rooted in faith, love, and generosity. His commitment to his family and community was unwavering, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
John is preceded in death by his father, Issac Washington. He is survived by his loving mother, Savannah Washington; daughters, Savannah Marie Washington, Kaitlyn Anita Washington, Macy Noel Washington, Remona Katherine Washington, and Natalie Corline Washington; sons, John Scott Washington, Jr., Jacob Charles Washington, and Gabriel Darwin Washington; sisters, Anita Washington and Remona Washington White; brothers, Darwin Washington and Charles Austin (Nina and Juan); and his cherished niece, Candice Hoskins (Jake).
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 8 at 11am with a celebration of life at 12pm where family and friends will gather to honor his memory at The Settegast-Kopf Company at Sugar Creek 15015 Southwest Frwy Sugar Land, Texas 77478. The graveside service will be a private gathering, reserved for family members only.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in John's memory.
John's legacy of love, kindness, and devotion to family will continue to inspire all who knew him. He will forever be remembered for the warmth he brought into every room, the joy he found in the little things, and the unbreakable bond he shared with his loved ones. Rest in peace, John.
