Janie was born on August 5, 1950, in Sugar Land, Texas, to Domingo G. Luna and Juanita D. Luna. She grew up in Sugar Land and attended Dulles High School before meeting and marrying the love of her life, Silvero Rodriguez, in 1968.
Janie devoted her life to caring for her children, grandchildren, and extended family. She was happiest when surrounded by those she loved and was always willing to lend a helping hand. She had a passion for traveling the world, dancing, attending live music events, and researching her family's history. Her warmth, kindness, and love for her family will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 44 years, Silvero Rodriguez; her parents, Domingo G. Luna and Juanita D. Luna; her son, Lawrence Rodriguez; her daughter-in-law, Lydia Rodriguez; her sister, Angelita Rosillo; her brothers, Domingo Luna Jr., Erminio Luna, Raymond Luna, and Joe Luna; her granddaughter, Carly McCulloch; her nephew, Miguel Luna Jr.; and her great-granddaughter, Carly Maloney.
Janie is survived by her daughter, Belinda Bonilla and husband, Jose, of Sugar Land, Texas; her daughter, Patricia McCulloch and husband, Wyatt, of Conroe, Texas; and her son, Raymond Rodriguez, of Sugar Land, Texas. She is also survived by her brothers, Miguel Luna and wife, Birdie, of Richmond, Texas, and Johnny Luna and wife, Rosa, of Carrollton, Texas.
Janie was blessed with 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and cherished friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
Our family will be forever grateful to her Son Raymond for the loving, compassionate, and unwavering care he provided Janie throughout her lengthy illness, allowing her to remain in the comfort of her home. His devotion was a true gift to both Janie and our entire family.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Janie's life during a visitation which will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2026 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Settegast-Kopf Company Sugar Creek, 15015 Southwest Freeway, Sugar Land, Texas. With a rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, July 17, 2026 at 11:00 am at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 705 St. Theresa Blvd., Sugar Land, Texas.
The family extends its heartfelt gratitude for the prayers, love, and support shown during this difficult time. Janie's love, strength, and beautiful spirit will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
