

Judy was born on November 29, 1943, in Matador, Texas, to Buford and Wilna Hobbs. Raised with strong values of kindness and community, Judy carried those traits throughout her life. She never met a stranger and was known for her warm smile, easy conversation, and genuine interest in others.
On November 6, 1974, Judy married the love of her life, David Allen Brown, in Lubbock, Texas. Together they built a life centered on family, laughter, and shared experiences.
Judy found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved walking her beloved dog, Dexter, cheering on the Houston Astros, getting lost in a good book, traveling to new places, and trying her luck at the casino. Her enthusiasm for life and adventurous spirit were contagious to those around her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Buford and Wilna Hobbs; her devoted husband, David Allen Brown; and her brother, Rondald Hobbs.
Judy’s memory will be cherished by her daughters, Kayla McDaniel and Kimber Smith and husband Percy Smith; her stepdaughters, Nicole Gangolf and Michelle Hobbs; her grandchildren, Amber Willison, Sara Perez and spouse Taylor Perez, and Matthias Smith; her step-grandchildren, Janna Gango, Locklyn and Laurel Hobbs; and her great-grandchildren, La’Darrius Bennett, Ay’Sreeonia Bennett, Garrett Warner, and Taylee Bono. She leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and unwavering devotion to her family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Judy’s honor.
Judy’s kindness, laughter, and loving spirit will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.
