Kathryn “Katie” Hill Mechler, who was born May 5, 1952 in Corpus Christi, TX to Dorothy and J. Patrick Hill, passed away peacefully November 10, 2020.

After moving to Houston and graduating from the University of Houston, she enjoyed a career as an accountant in the oil and gas industry. Katie was passionate about community involvement, including her children’s schools and other organizations. Known for her love of the culinary arts, she passed those skills on to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed travel with her husband, especially cruises to explore international locations. Her greatest love was time spent with family, especially her grandchildren and faithful companion Biscuit.

Katie was preceded in death by her father. She is survived by her mother, husband of 41 years Hal Mechler, brother Michael Hill and sister Judy Setliff. As well as her children Natalie Pham, Matt Mechler, Kacie Bartels and their spouses Victor Pham, Jennifer Mechler, and Andy Bartels. “G”, as she was called by her seven grandchildren, is also succeeded by Alexander Pham, Samantha Pham, Taylor Pham, Cameron Pham, Reid Mechler, Dorothy Mechler, and Oliver Bartels.

Katie will be dearly missed by many, but will never be forgotten.
