

In loving memory of Larry Guin, who graced this world with his presence on December 7, 1950, in Vivian, Louisiana, and departed peacefully on September 24, 2026. Larry was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose life was a testament to love, kindness, and generosity.
Larry was born to Elijah Jackson Guin and Flora Lee Guin, both of whom predeceased him, along with his cherished brothers Michael, Rodger, and Mark Guin. Despite these profound losses, Larry's heart remained open and full of love, drawing strength and joy from his family. He is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Lucy, whom he married on June 6, 1969. Together, they built a beautiful life, blessed with two daughters, Emily and Sara, and five wonderful grandchildren: Kate, Ethan, Jack, Grant, and Dean.
A proud alumnus of North Caddo High School, Larry graduated in 1968 and pursued higher education at Louisiana Tech, where he earned a master's degree in chemistry. His professional journey led him to a successful career as a pharmaceutical sales representative for Amgen, a role from which he retired in 2008. Even in his career, Larry's genuine care for others shone through, leaving lasting impressions on colleagues and clients alike.
Larry was a man of many talents and passions. An active member of St. Laurence Catholic Church, he found joy in singing with the 11 o'clock choir, sharing his love for music with his community. He was also a master gardener, creating a breathtaking garden sanctuary that became a haven for birds and butterflies. In the late 90s, Larry discovered his passion for cooking, delighting family and friends with countless delicious meals.
Travel was another cherished aspect of Larry and Lucy's life together. They explored the world, making memories on numerous vacations with friends and annual family trips that will forever be treasured by those who shared in those experiences.
Larry's life was marked by a deep appreciation for nature and animals, a reflection of his inherently gentle and giving spirit. He touched many lives with his kindness and left a legacy of love and generosity that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
Visitation will be held at The Settegast-Kopf Company at Sugar Creek, The Morrow Chapel, 15015 Southwest Fwy, Sugar Land, TX 77478, US, on October 5, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, followed by the Rosary at the same location on October 5, 2026, from 7:00 pm to 7:30 pm.
A celebration of Larry's life will be held on October 6, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Laurence Catholic Church, located at 3100 Sweetwater Blvd., Sugar Land, TX 77479. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, honoring Larry's lifelong commitment to giving back to the community.
Larry Guin will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched, and his spirit will continue to guide and inspire those who carry his love forward.
