

Our beloved father, Lawrence “Larry” Falcon, died peacefully at his home with his daughters at his side, on July 8, 2026. He was born June 5, 1946 in El Campo, Texas to Antonio and Dominga Falcon. Lawrence spent his childhood and adolescence in El Campo and attended El Campo High School and the University of Houston. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, Lawrence served in the United States Army. He lived in Houston before moving to Sugar Land, Texas in 1979. He worked as a draftsman at several prominent engineering and construction firms over the years. Lawrence was a parishioner at St. Laurence Catholic Church in Sugar Land. He was also a member of the University of Houston Alumni Association and Fort Bend Fit Running Club. As an avid runner, Lawrence started competing in races in his late 40s and was a Boston Marathon Finisher in 2008. Lawrence enjoyed gardening, cycling, Astros baseball, U of H athletics, visiting with his neighbors and spending time with his family. In his spare time, he also listened to oldies music, watched westerns, and attended live theater performances.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters: Albina Hinojosa and Virginia Hernandez, brothers: Anton “Tony” Falcon, Rudolph Falcon, and Manuel Falcon. As well as, Tony Rojas, Jim Hinojosa, Josie Falcon, Elma Falcon, Don Reed and Jimmy Joe Valdez. Lawrence is survived by daughters: Leslie Dye (Jeremy) and Lauren Maas (Ryan) and their mother Carolyn Turner; sisters: Olivia Reed, Delores Valdez, Ann Falcon Barnett, and Helen Rojas; brothers: Clarence Falcon, Daniel Falcon (Sylvia), and Israel Falcon (Ruby); and grandchildren: Clara and Charlie Dye and Maggie Maas. As well as Cade Maas (Regan) and Henry.
The family would like to give special thanks to Rita Ramirez, devoted caregiver, and the nurses at Fairmont Hospice.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at The Settegast-Kopf Company (Dignity Memorial), 15015 Southwest Fwy at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, July 15th and burial service at Holy Cross Memorial Park, 312 E Alfred St on Thursday, July 16th at 10:30 am.
If you are unable to attend either service, please join us in wearing a favorite race shirt on his next birthday, June 5th.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Houston Area Parkinson Society’s marathon team, Team HAPS, which supports Chevron Houston Marathon runners in their fundraising efforts to provide free services to Houston area residents living with Parkinson’s.
