

Leo Draper, 85, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior April 30, 2017. He was married to his high school sweetheart, Betty Margaret for 63 years. He was born in Bosque County, Texas, March 24, 1932. His family moved to Breckenridge, Texas when he was a small child. He graduated from Breckenridge High School and then attended Texas A&M. Leo served 27 years on active duty in the US Army, serving at many Army posts in the US as well as Germany, Vietnam and Korea. Upon his retirement he and Margaret retired to Breckenridge, Texas where he taught high school math and computers.Then they moved to Sugar Land in 2001 to be close to one of their precious grandchildren, Leila. He was a truly loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents Sydney Faulkner and Annie May Draper as well as his sisters Doris Holt and Dorothy Bell. He is survived by his wife Margaret, Leo’s brother and wife AJ and Bobbie Draper, his children and their spouses, Robert and Bernadette Draper, Roger and Ellen Draper, Melinda and Craig Rhyne and David and Adrienne Draper. He is survived by six grandchildren, Rodney and his wife Lisa Draper, Stephanie and her husband Rich Beck, Breanna Rhyne, Leila Draper, Isabelle Draper and Juliette Draper and five great-grandchildren, John and Hazel Beck, Seth, Rebekah and Rachel Draper and many nieces and nephews. He was a devoted member of Sugar Land Baptist Church serving as a deacon, usher and welcome host for many years. He enjoyed distributing food at Loaves and Fishes and East Fort Bend Human Needs Ministry, Inc. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the East Fort Bend Human Needs Ministry, Inc., 435 Stafford Run, P.O. Box 1611, Stafford, TX 77497-1611 or Sugar Land Baptist Church missions. The family would like to thank Vitas Healthcare and Visiting Angels for the hospice services they provided.
