

LINDA GOOLSBY WATSON, passed into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Sunday evening, October 19, 2014. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on August 24, 1961. She is survived by her loving husband, David J. Watson; her two daughters, Lara and Emma Watson of Sugar Land; her parents, James W. Goolsby and Gloria M. Goolsby of Sugar Land; her brother, James W. Goolsby, Jr.; her sister-in-law, Carrie L. Goolsby; and nephews, William and Michael Goolsby of Houston. Linda was preceded in death by her grandparents, Sheriff J. Art and Cecille Goolsby, and C. Carey and Dula Mills.
Linda was a long-time resident of the Houston area and graduated from Texas State University where she was a member of Alpha Phi. She was a CPA and was employed by GC Services, St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, and later at Christian Community Services Center.
Linda was a devout Christian and a life-long Methodist. She and her family are members of Sugar Land First United Methodist Church. Linda was active in Joy of Living and a frequent lecturer for the group. She was also a member of the Junior League of Houston. Linda leaves behind many friends with whom she enjoyed long and lasting relationships. The family wishes to thank the dedicated doctors and staff at St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital and especially Dr. Adaani Frost.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, October 24, 2014, at Sugar Land First United Methodist Church, 431 Eldridge Rd., Sugar Land, Texas 77478. The family will receive friends at the church after the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Christian Community Services Center @ www.ccschouston.com, or to the charity of your choice.
