Lucia Yanez Garcia Clarke

Lucia Yanez Garcia Clarke, age 94, of Missouri City and Big Spring, Texas, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 9, 2025. Lucia was born on April 12, 1931, in Big Spring, Texas, where she was raised with strong values of faith, family, and community that guided her throughout her life.

Lucia was the devoted wife of the late Caulthorpe Allen Clarke, with whom she shared 69 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a loving home and raised a beautiful family. Their life together was filled with love, laughter, and countless memories — from their early years traveling during Caulthorpe’s Air Force career to their retirement years in Big Spring.

Lucia was known for her gentle spirit, kindness, and selfless heart. She dedicated her life to her family, always putting others before herself. Whether it was preparing home-cooked meals, tending to her garden, or lending a listening ear, Lucia brought comfort and warmth to everyone who knew her. Her quiet strength and unwavering love were the foundation of her family’s happiness.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Caulthorpe Allen Clarke, and her parents.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, George Clarke (Maryann), Larry Clarke (Grace), and Ralph Clarke (Karla); her grandchildren, Brittany Thrash, John A. Clarke, Katelyn Clarke, Kevin A. Clarke, Preston A. Clarke, and Kambrah Wiseman; and her great-grandchildren, BreEllie and Blaise Thrash, Jack and Henry Clarke, and Jonah and Mason Newman. Lucia is also survived by her beloved siblings: her sisters, Grace Garcia Ellis and Polly Yanez Mendoza Martinez; and her brother, Gregorio Yanez Garcia (wife Delma). She will be lovingly remembered by extended family and many dear friends.

A Celebration of Life for Lucia Clarke will be held at a later date at The Settegast-Kopf Co. @ Sugar Creek, 15015 Southwest Freeway, Sugar Land, TX 77478.

Lucia’s legacy of love, faith, and compassion will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
