Luis Antonio Villegas, Jr.

Luis Antonio Villegas, Jr. was born on December 16, 1958 in El Paso, Texas to Luis Antonio Villegas Sr. and Maria Luisa Villegas Ruiz. He passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2019, in Houston, TX surrounded by his loving family.

Luis loved his family! He provided a home and cared for his mother. His love of cars made him an expert, so he was the “go-to” mobile mechanic. He was always willing to help others with whatever they needed, sometimes even trading services for a good meal. Luis believed in giving back to the community, often hosting or showing up to help with fundraiser benefits. He was there from start to finish, lending a helping hand. He loved being part of the Cruzin and Smokin BBQ Cook Off Team and loved Tejano Music. He was “The Cowboy” of the family, always sporting a bolo, cowboy boots, a cowboy hat, or all three. If there was a party, he was there with his funny sense of humor and a big grin. He was everyone’s dance partner and was ready to be an escort or drive for that special occasion. With his easy ability to make friends, he had them everywhere, especially at his favorite hangouts, and he was loved by everyone. He believed in Jesus Christ and, though he’s now with God, he’ll be missed by all those who knew him!

He was preceded in death by his father, Luis Antonio Villegas Sr.. Luis is survived by his mother, Maria Luisa Villegas, children Luis Antonio Villegas III and wife Veronica, Daniel Villegas and wife Erika; grandchildren Luis IV, Liam, Drake, and Mia; sisters Teri Smith and husband Rob, Cristy Jennings and husband Tom, Angie Andrews and husband Chuck; and brother Albi Villegas and wife Gabi. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
