

Madhuri Rebecca Hosford, beloved sister, aunt and friend, passed from complications of Parkinson’s disease on February 27, 2025. Madhuri was born in Ruston, Louisiana on October 15, 1948, to parents, Richard Alonzo and Rachel Eugenia Smith. She graduated from Ruston High School in Ruston, Louisiana, and she earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston. She will be greatly missed by countless friends and was loved by many, including her family.
Madhuri is survived by her brother, Richard Alan Smith; sister-in-law, Francis Punkin Smith; nieces, Cindy Smith, Cacey Hershey, Diana Turner; grand-nephews, Wesley Turner, Miles Turner, Oliver Hershey, Augustus Hershey; former spouses, Max Hosford and Jeffrey Aiken; and cherished members of Seattle area friend group/chosen family, Souls That Breath (STB).
Madhuri lived a full life of service and adventure. She enjoyed sailing, dancing, hiking, nature, traveling with friends, and learning about different cultures, religions and philosophies. She was devoted to the Hindu Guru Amachi for many years and volunteered to support humanitarian efforts with Amachi’s organization in India and in Washington State. She was also involved with the Houston Area Parkinsons Society. She is loved by many members of Cornerstone Community Bible Church in Rosenberg, Texas.
