I’m extremely blessed to have gotten to know Manuel a few years back (when making a life changing move from San Diego to Fort Bend county). Almost everything good that has happened to me since moving to Texas is because of Manuel (and Irene). He made a huge impact on my life in such a short amount of time. Not necessarily for the obvious reasons of being my first Texas landlord or helping me buy my first home. I don’t even think he realized it but I looked at him as a mentor. I learned so much from him. He genuinely wanted good things for other people. He was very encouraging. 

While on a drive to look at homes my mom and I just remember how much he loved talking about his family and we loved to listen because he was always so relatable. 

My heart broke for his family and for this earth when I learned that Manuel had passed. I am inspired by him and hope that I can make even half the impact he made on those blessed enough to have crossed his path. 

What a great gain heaven has received!

Manuel's legacy will be his kindness, thoughtfulness, never ending patience, and laughter with a bigger than life  grin or smile.  This is our ( Theresa, Bucky, and Chris) childhood memories with our cousin Manuel when Uncle Raul and Aunt Josie would invite us to spend days with them during the Christmas Holidays.  Manuel and Daniel kept us laughing with their pranks.
Manuel's goodness and sense of humor will be missed.

I know Manuel from high school and infrequent occasions like our usual five year high school reunions around the country.  Manual had that special quality in high school and afterward that made you feel like you were special to him, even with years intervening.  He made everybody around him full of life.  If he was talking  in a room of people, most conversations would migrate his way.

Manuel's passing has been difficulty to process, understand and express in words.
Manuel and I spent a lot of time together during  my High School and College years. Visiting him at St. Anthony Seminary and later at St. Mary's University was always a treat for me; a chance to spend time with him and his friends.
He was not only my cousin but a very good friend.
Carol and I extend our deepest sympathies to Yolanda, Danny, Irma, Roy David and especially to my Aunt Josie and Irene and her family.
Manuel will be missed but always in our hearts.

Manuel was one of my all-time favorite people. He will truly be missed by everyone he touched, including my wife and I. The Cavazos family is in our prayers. 

Manny was truly one of a kind!  His generous soul, kind heart and infectious laugh will be greatly missed.  We are so thankful that Manny touched our lives and will always cherish our Big Easy times with him and Irene.

Dear Manuel,

Ellen & I will miss you greatly.  Our prayers go out to Irene, your children, and your extended family members.  We enjoyed sharing life's experiences with you & Irene at Astros baseball games, Baylor football games,  Houston Ballet, and Rice University Continuing Education Classes.  But the best part was talking with you during trips to the games, as we shared issues in our lives.   Your sharing of your extensive knowledge of the mortgage loan business helped me,  and you and Irene gave my son great service in his first home mortgage.  Your friends and customers will greatly miss you, your upbeat personality, and your friendship.  May God give you grace and peace, good friend! Manuel and I and other seminarians went to Mexico with Fr Davis on a very memorable trip.
Throughout the trip he made us laugh and was always the calm one in the group.
He will always be in my thoughts.

We love Manuel and his dear wife Irene... We enjoyed the pleasure of meeting them both over 20yrs..My husband Donnie and I considered them the best of the best of dear friends..We send our condolences to the family.

I had the opportunity to work with Manny on many occasions. He was always a bright, shining light and had a such a positive attitude. He always went above and beyond and his ultimate goal was to make sure I was happy at the end of the day. A true professional that worked according to his values and beliefs. He loved his family and never missed an opportunity to dote on them. You will be missed my friend.

I had known Manuel for over 20 years and first met him when I looking to buy my first house, and while most people I spoke with simply wanted my business, Manny was the only one who  seemed more about helping me and steering me through all the confusion during that stressful time.
He always had a kind word, a good laugh, and always asked about my family and news in my life.

I spoke with him just over 3 weeks ago, and truly sad to hear this news and his sudden passing.  My heart and prayers go out to his family and lovely  wife Irene. 

He will be  missed  and sending my thoughts and prayers at this very sad time  .

All I can say is from as far back as I can remember, Manuel was one of the kindest person's I ever had the privilege of knowing.  He was a great husband, father, brother and my cousin. 
Irene,  I know this has been a shock to you and family, but give thanks to God that he was with us for 71 years, 47 of which you shared together. This planet lost a great guy, and will be dearly missed.

With the family I grieve the loss of one so happy to be around. I was a year ahead of Manuel in high school, but had not seen him since.  It was no surprise to learn that he and Irene shared a long marriage together.
