Mary as a kid grew up as a migrant farmworker with her parents and siblings. They would travel from Florida to Ohio, Michigan, Virgina and Georgia picking a variety of crops. Mary learned work ethics at a very young age to help provide for her family. She did this type of work with her family until the age of 15, where she met the love of her life in 1972 and was married for 49 years. Once she was married, she lived a great wonderful life surrounded by her four boys and family. She enjoyed going to get-togethers, family barbecues and dances. Mary was known to be the sweetest person that was not afraid to tell you how she really felt. She was the backbone of her family. Always putting her children and husband first even above herself. Mary loved to listen, sing and dance Tejano music with her honey. She loved cooking for her family, drinking coffee, knitting, playing loteria and most importantly spending time with her husband and kids. Mary’s sense of humor was mostly seen when she was around her children while they sat around making each other laugh while enjoying each other’s presence. While Mary helped provide for her family she unfortunately had a bad work accident in 2005 that caused her to be diagnosed with Parkinson’s which she battled with for many years. She was also diagnosed with breast cancer years later. Mary was so strong, she was a fighter and continued to smile regardless of the battles she faced.
She was deeply loved and cared about, she touched so many lives with her grace and love. Mary, a beautiful mother that will be truly missed, with a smile that will never be forgotten, who’s gentle touch will forever be desired.
