Melva always had a smile. She was a great bridge player and was generous with her tips and explanations. She never sounded supercilious and offered her advice freely when asked, even going so far as to lay out the hand and talk it over with you.

It will be sad to walk in the club and not see Melva sitting at the table by the door in the South position--her favorite spot.

We will truly miss her.

Condolences to all the family and friends.

Melva was an inspitation to all of us at the Clear Lake Bridge Club. Her uplifting attitude, smile, and of course, knowledge of bridge was so enriching to all of us. We will truly miss her. Thoughts and prayers are with her family.

So sorry to hear about Melva's passing. I called her the cream puff lady. At bridge party's she sometimes brought the most wonderful cream puffs. They were not light weight, they were heavy because they were made with real cream. Wow, delicious

My beautiful, sweet, funny, precious, kind Aunt Melva, oh how I will miss her. She had such a way about her that let you know just how much she cared about you. It was important to her that you knew just how much you meant to her on each and every visit and every phone call.

Whenever there was a need, she was always the first one to pitch in and help. As she got a little less mobile she became an excellent director! Her culinary skills were out of this world, ask anybody. One of my recent memories is of her teaching me to make an apple pie in her kitchen, she made it seem so easy..and it was delicious!

I’m so grateful for the many wonderful memories I have with her. Whether it was on a family vacation, holidays, or just impromptu visits, there was always laughter, lots of laughter. I loved to hear her laugh more than anything and devoted a lot of time and effort in making her laugh just so I could listen to her. Many times we laughed until we cried. I will always miss her more than I can express.

My dear sweet Brian, you took such good care of her with kindness, love and a lot of patience. My heart breaks for your loss, I love you.
