"Bless your heart!" Mother, Mom, Aunt, Nana, Gi-Gi, or Ms. Melva often gave you her signature platitude with charm and sincerity. At age 85, Melva passed away October, 25, 2019. She was born June 19, 1934, in Houston, TX. Melva is survived by Eugene Keil, Jr., son, and wife JoAnn, and Brian Keil, son. As well as her grandson, Michael Keil, and great-grandchildren, Jeremiah, Zoe, and Alex. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Eugene Keil, Sr., and younger brother, Jimmy Heim. She is survived by sisters Elva Underwood, Mary Sanders, Brenda Jones, and brothers Charles Fake, Joe Heim, Jr. As well as, numerous nieces, nephews and long-time friends
Melva graduated from San Jacinto High School in 1953. She maintained two full-time jobs as a professional Keypunch Operator and Mother. During her 20 years of retirement, she continued playing Contract Duplicate Bridge fondly called "work." She achieved the prestigious Silver Life Master Award. Ms. Melva had a contagious laugh and loved entertaining family events.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to her medical team and caregivers of the past few years.
