Minerva “Sissy” Clampffer (Roberts) passed away surrounded by family and nurses at St. Luke's Hospital on Monday, 16 of July 2018 in Sugar Land, Texas at the age of 74 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Sissy was born on June 7, 1944 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Gustav Roberts and Esther Diamond Roberts. She is preceded in death by her parents and sister Barbra Lynn Smith.
Minerva is survived by her husband for 50 years Lawrence R. Clampffer of Sugar Land, her brother Bernard A. Roberts of Lake Forest California, her sons Todd R. Clampffer, Blake R. Clampffer, Gregg E. Clampffer, her daughters-in-law Keesha Renae Clampffer, Rachel Kathleen Everidge Clampffer, Molly Lepeska, and her beloved grandchildren Kallie Clampffer, Samara Clampffer, Simon Clampffer, Gustav Clampffer, Luna Clampffer, Samuel Clampffer.
Sissy graduated from Roxborough Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1968 as a Registered Nurse beginning a career and dedicating her life to caring for others. She met Lawrence while caring for Lawrence’s sister Joan at the hospital. They were married in Philadelphia on June 8, 1968.
While raising her 3 sons and working full time, Sissy was steadfast in pursuit of continuing her education receiving an Associates Degree at Houston Community College, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston where she graduated with highest honors, a Master of Science in Nursing Education at Texas Woman's University, and was certified as a Nurse Practitioner at Texas Woman's University.
A visitation is scheduled from 11a-1p on Sunday July 22, at the The Settegast-Kopf Co. @ Sugar Creek, 15015 Southwest Freeway Sugar Land, Texas 77478. Rabbi Dan Gordon will officiate a memorial service at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to a cancer research organization of your choice.
