It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Nicole Lee Ecklund Brooks, who left us on December 25, 2024, at the age of 48. Nicole was born on April 27, 1976, in Lawrence, Kansas, and was a cherished daughter, mother, sister, and friend.
Nicole earned her Bachelor's degree in Education from the University of Houston and was a proud life member of the University of Houston Alumni Association. She recently dedicated her career to teaching, touching the lives of countless students and instilling in them a love for learning.
Her true joy in life came from her family. She was a devoted mother to her three beautiful daughters, Isabella Lee Brooks, Briella Lynn Brooks, and Stella Lucille Brooks. Nicole adored her girls, and nothing brought her more happiness than spending time with them. Her love for her family extended to her parents, David Ecklund (Susie Ecklund) and Deborah Ecklund-Packer (Dwight Packer), her siblings McKenzie Packer, Jon Ecklund (Fiona), David Brueggen (Kelly), Sam Packer, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was deeply loved and will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
Nicole had many hobbies that brought her joy, including her love for football, especially supporting the Pittsburgh Steelers, and her passion for movies, music, arts and crafts, and spending time with her beloved pets. She found peace and contentment in these simple pleasures, as well as in the company of family and friends.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the wonderful staff at Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital, Texas Oncology, and UT Physicians for their compassionate care during Nicole's illness.
A service in celebration of Nicole's life will be held in the Chapel of Grace Presbyterian Church, 10221 Ella Lee Lane, Houston, TX 77042, on January 9, 2025, at 1:00 PM. Senior Pastor Dr. Julia Leeth will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in honor of Nicole's memory.
Nicole's warmth, kindness, and devotion to her family and friends will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
