Pamela Wheeler

Pamela Ruoff Wheeler, 78, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2026. Born on August 26, 1947, in Union City, New Jersey, Pamela lived a life marked by service, adventure, and devotion to family and friends.

Pamela earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and dedicated her life to serving others. Throughout her years of service and retirement, Pam remained committed to helping people and giving back to her community. She was actively involved with the Veterans Administration, served as a board member of Quail Valley Golf Club, volunteered with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, and participated in the Fort Bend First Tee program for several years. After a couple of decades raising her family and working various jobs, Pam made a mid-career decision to become a computer programmer, eventually leading to her work with Schlumberger, where she worked for many years until her retirement in 2013.

Pam shared 38 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Andy Wheeler. Together they built a life filled with love, travel, and cherished memories. Pam and Andy lived all across the country, as well as spending two and a half memorable years in Paris, France. Their adventures took them throughout Europe, where they explored countless cities and cultural landmarks. Her adventurous spirit also led her on a memorable land and sea excursion through Alaska as well as numerous river cruises.

An avid golfer, Pam organized several golf tournaments at Quail Valley Golf Club. She especially enjoyed playing golf with friends and visiting with those she loved. Pam was very involved in numerous groups over her life playing Mahjong, Bridge, Texas Hold-em and other games. Pam treasured being surrounded by family and friends, creating memories through travel, recreation, and time together.

Pam was preceded in death by her husband, Andy Wheeler, and her parents, Dr. Andrew and Evelyn Ruoff.

Pam is survived by her daughter, Lorae Honings; her son, Gary K. Wheeler and wife Margie; her brother, Jeff Ruoff and wife Ginger; her grandchildren, Colton Honings, Nolan Wheeler, Andi Crocker, Gage Mooring, and Bryson Mooring; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and longtime friends.

Pam will be remembered for her generous heart, adventurous spirit, dedication to her community, and the love she shared with family and friends. Her memory will continue to live on in the many lives she touched.

There will be a Celebration of Life held on Saturday, August 22nd at 10:00 am. It will be held at Grand Living at Riverstone, 4828 LJ Parkway, Sugarland, TX.
