

RAMON E. SNYDER, age 82, of Missouri City, TX, died unexpectedly February 5, 2013, at his home. Ray, as he was known to family and friends, was born, August 17, 1930, to Ada and Harley Snyder in Webb City, Missouri. After graduating from Carl Junction High School in Missouri, he served in the Korean Conflict in the United States Air Force. He returned from Korea and graduated from Pittsburg State University, with a Bachelor of Science in Business. Ray enjoyed a highly successful career in the soft drink industry, notably with the Dr. Pepper Corporation. His career started in St. Louis, MO, going on to San Antonio, TX, then Los Angeles, CA, to Houston, TX. Ray retired for a year and traveled with his wife. He then returned to St. Louis, MO with Dr. Pepper until retirement. He is survived by his loving and loyal wife of 61 years, Helen Ruth (Ruthie); 4 children, Terry and his wife, Terrie Jo, Stanley and his wife, Angela, Philip and his wife, Juliana and Melissa Shockley and her husband, Rickey; grandchildren, Chris Snyder, Megan Nunn and her husband, Eric, David, Danny and Harley Snyder, Jessica and Justin Ramos; and great grandchildren, Natilee and Stephanie Nunn. He is also survived by sister-in- law, M’lle Gelvin and her husband, John; and many close friends. A Memorial Celebration of Ray’s life will be held at 2:00 PM, on Saturday, February 9, 2013, at The Settegast-Kopf Co. @ Sugar Creek, Sugar Land (Williams Trace Exit).
