Richard John Breyman, 52, more commonly known as Rick or Ricky, of Sugarland, Texas returned to his heavenly home on Thursday, April 7, 2022. He was a cancer warrior, had a passion for life and a strong will to live. He fought a courageous battle up until his final breath. He passed away at home, where he wished to be, surrounded by the unconditional love of his family and good friends as he went to meet the Lord.
Ricky was born on March 12, 1970 in Hampton, Virginia. It was clear at a young age how adventurous he would grow to be. As a child he was kind, kept himself busy, and always loved to be outdoors. He ended many days getting hosed down after playing in the puddles and creeks near his home.
Ricky married his high school sweetheart, Sandy, and began his career in the U.S. Navy before moving on to a profession in Environmental Health and Safety. He later became a member of The Galveston Mardi Gras Z Krewe where he met many great friends.
Ricky was a son, husband, brother, uncle, and friend who never missed an opportunity to be present for any occasion. He was the life of every party where his smile and laugh would light up the room, yet he was especially known for his love of the outdoors and the peace it gave him. He took great pleasure in traveling, finding every adventure in grand hikes up mountains, exploring the deep woods, skiing (not his best, but he did it), spending time on the beach, and saltwater bay fishing.
In his leisure, he enjoyed beautiful days in his backyard, tending to his garden, and walking his best friend Maggie.
Ricky never met a stranger and would never kill a bug. His quick witted personality, humor and sarcasm are irreplaceable and he is dearly loved and missed.
Ricky is survived by his wife, Sandy Breyman; son, Dylon Breyman
Mother & Step Father, Lynn & Scott Mathems; Father & Step Mom, Rick Breyman & Kathy Owens
His sisters, Kari Thompson and Sarah Pawlowski; His nieces and nephews, Thomas Thompson, Nicole Thompson, Emily Thompson, Katie Grisell, Ollie Pawlowski.
We are proud of you Ricky- your victory is in meeting Jesus. We know you’re up to many adventures in heaven, watching over us along the way and that you’ll show us all the best places when we get there someday.

~ God's Garden ~
God looked around his garden- And found an empty place,
He then looked down upon the earth- And saw your tired face.
He put his arms around you -And lifted you to rest.
God’s garden must be beautiful -He always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering -He knew you were in pain.
He knew that you would never – Get well on earth again.
He saw the road was getting rough – And the hills were hard to climb.
So he closed your weary eyelids – And whispered, ‘Peace be thine’.
It broke our hearts to lose you – But you didn’t go alone,
For part of us went with you – The day God called you home.
