

RICHARD RAMOS RODRIGUEZ, age 57, died Thursday, January 3rd, 2013, in Houston Texas. He was born February 7th, 1955, in Corpus Christi, Texas, as the first child of six, to Bonifacio and Amparo Medina Rodriguez.
Richard was raised in Corpus Christi, where he had a passion for playing baseball from little league to high school. He attended Corpus Christi Cathedral until high school, and then the Corpus Christi Academy and Richard King High School as a senior. Richard started his college career at A&I University in Kingsville. He finished his B.B.A. in Accounting in 1977 at St. Mary's University in San Antonio. He married his beloved wife of thirty-six years, Belinda Ochoa Rodriguez on June 25, 1977, in Corpus Christi. His first job assignment relocated him to Houston, where he would remain until his death. Richard and Belinda raised two children, Aja Rodriguez and Richard Anthony Rodriguez in Houston. He spent his last twenty-eight years at Morris, Ligon, and Rodriguez as a C.P.A. and partner in the firm. He was an accomplished professional with additional duties on numerous boards including the Texas Life, Accident, Health & Hospital Service Insurance Guaranty Association. Richard was an avid runner and completed 49 marathons over his running career. He was set to complete his 50th this January in the Houston Marathon. He also enjoyed spending time with his family on the beach in Port Aransas where he loved to fish.
Richard is survived by his wife of thirty-six years, Belinda Rodriguez; daughter, Aja Rodriguez-Vidal and her husband Edwin; son, Anthony Rodriguez and his wife Sarah; parents, Bonifacio and Amparo Rodriguez; grandchildren Brook Vidal, Hunter Vidal, Madeleine Vidal, Peyton Rodriguez, and Sebastian Rodriguez; great-grandchild, Lillian Liebel; sisters, Belinda Lundholm and her husband Mike, Patsy Mainka, and Elizabeth Winfrey and her husband Randy; brothers, Ralph Rodriguez and his wife Elva, and Roland Roriguez; sister-in-law, Leticia Ochoa; brother-in-law Jaime Ochoa; numerous nieces and nephews; and the family dog Sergeant.
Friends are invited to a visitation with the family from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Sunday, January 6, 2013, at The Settegast-Kopf Co. @ Sugar Creek, 15015 Southwest Freeway, Sugar Land (Williams Trace Exit), with a Vigil Service beginning at 5:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, January 7, 2013, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 507 South Fourth St., Richmond, TX, with the Rev. Josefino P. Templado, officiating. The Rite of Committal will follow at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 13001 Katy Freeway, in Houston.
