Roger Lee Hackman

ROGER LEE HACKMAN, passed away peacefully on the afternoon of December 9, 2012, in Sugar Land, Texas. His children, Dodd L. Hackman of Sugar Land, and Dawn L. McDaniel of Austin, were with his pastor at his bedside at the time of his passing. Roger was born in Vallonia, Indiana, on December 10, 1930. He served in the U.S. Army from 1951-1953, and in the Army Reserve until 1956. Roger and his wife, Kathleen, have been married for over 60 years. Mr. Hackman founded TABS Direct in Harlingen, Texas, in 1961, and moved it to Houston in 1982. Upon his retirement in 2000, he moved to his ranch in Yorktown, Texas. Roger is survived by his wife, Kathleen; his children and grandchildren; and brother, Russell Hackman. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, December 12, 2012, at Grace Lutheran Church, 9806 NE Zac Lentz Pkwy., Victoria, with the Rev. Chris Johnson, officiating. Friends are invited to a visitation with the family from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday, December 17, 2012, at The Settegast-Kopf Co. @ Sugar Creek, 15015 Southwest Freeway, Sugar Land, TX 77478. Interment will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, December 18, 2012, at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038, with full military honors.
