Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Rosie Velasquez, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, September 13, 2020. Faith and family were the most important things to her. She was a devout Catholic modeling these virtues throughout her life and was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church.

She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Cruz Velasquez. Together they have three children, Lisa Emiliani and husband, Kirk; Julie Olesen and husband, Tony; Matthew Velasquez and wife, Jennifer; and ten grandchildren Kyle, Lauren, Megan, Marisa, Jacob, Caitlin, Addison, Sebastian, Sofia, and Isabella. She was blessed with a loving family and many wonderful friends and neighbors. Rosie never missed an opportunity to let them know how much they were loved and appreciated.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 18 from 5-8pm at The Settegast-Kopf Co. @ Sugar Creek. A recital of the rosary will take place at 7pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, September 19 at 1:30pm at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Sugar Land, Texas.

Time is so short.
We never know what God's plan will hold for each of us.

Rosie loved life. Each photo shared is her giving of herself to all those lives she touched. She gave her heart to everyone.

She treasured her husband and family, and was blessed with a strong faith that carried her in God's care.

She was the BEST sister we could have asked for! She was elegant, compassionate and kind.
Even on her most difficult days, she would ask how I was doing.

My heart is heavy.
She is at peace.

Friendship is a BLESSING,
it's the best you have to share,
the talents and the wisdom,
the capacity to care...
It's being there to lend support,
whatever needs arise,
it's making sure that others know
they're special in your eyes.
Friendship is a Blessing and
to all those who have a friend
it's one of the most precious gifts
that life could ever send.

My very dear friend Rosie,
I found this poem in moms stuff and I know she thought of you
as I do now when I look at it. You will never know how much you are missed! You are now in Heaven with Joan and Lynn, the 3 Musketeers or if it was just Joan and you, Lucy and Ethel:) I will terribly miss our lunches, movie outings, shopping excursions, talks on the phone and my updates on ALL the grand"babies" (not babies anymore). I can truly say that your abuelita loved each one of you wholeheartedly and was so very, very proud of each one of you.
Cruz, Lisa, Julie and Matthew and families,,,our love, thoughts and prayers are with you today and always!
