A Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held at 2pm on Sunday, February 23, at The Settegast-Kopf Company @ Sugar Creek.
Sabra was a creative soul who plunged into hobbies and crafts that showed off her natural talents, like photography, painting and scrapbooking. Unpretentious and unassuming, Sabra got her share of stellar compliments, but brushed them off with a modest smile. But mostly, Sabra enjoyed these activities because Angela enjoyed them, and any friend of Angela’s was a friend of Sabra’s.
She put everyone before herself and was the greatest fan of her grandchildren, frequently attending balmy summer swim meets, even on her worst days.
At 14 years old, Sabra got a job to help support her family. It was this strong work ethic that lead her down a multifaceted career path, introducing her, frame by frame, to the women who would eventually become her oldest and dearest friends.
She was born on May 7, 1943, in Connersville, Indiana, to Robert Gray and the late Kathryn Williford Gray Watson. She was preceded in death by her mother, Kathryn; and her step-father, Paul Watson.
Sabra is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Dean Williams; her father, Robert K. Gray; and her brother, Robert W. (Buddy) Gray Sr. and his wife Peggy. She is also survived by her daughter, Angela and her husband Rick Korger and their daughters, Emily Kathryn and Hannah Marie; her step-children, Rickey and Linda Williams, and Debra and Neal McCraw; as well as sixteen other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Dean and Angela would like to extend their gratitude to the many friends and family members who have blessed and surrounded them with love and support throughout Sabra’s illness.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Sabra’s memory may be made to Houston Hospice, 1905 Holcombe Blvd., Houston, TX 77030 (www.houstonhospice.org), or to Friends Thru The Fight, P.O. Box 666, League City, TX 77574 ([email protected]).
