OBITUARY
Shelia Yvonne Washington
May 10, 1959 – May 25, 2017
On May 25th Shelia Yvonne Washington left us to join God, and her parents. Shelia was born in Detroit, Michigan on May 10, 1959 to Alice and Wesley O’Neal. She was educated in Detroit Catholic schools and attended Wayne State University where she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice. After college, she began her career working as an office manager. She also enjoyed extensive domestic and international travel with her mother, sisters and friends. She also was a loving and dedicated caregiver for her mother during an extended illness. In 1988, Shelia married her husband, Vincent, and they began a wonderful life together. Shelia was as a loving wife and mother to their daughters, Amber and Allison. Her family was the center of her life; she put them first and foremost ahead of anything else. After staying home to raise her family, Shelia returned to the workforce ultimately becoming a bookkeeper for Fort Bend ISD at First Colony Middle School. Shelia loved her work, her co-workers and all of her dear friends. Shelia, the “middle sister,” was kind, supportive and the best friend anyone could ever have. She impacted the lives of everyone she met in the most positive ways. Her smile and personality always made everyone feel loved and special. She brought joy and life to everyone she encountered. Shelia is survived by her husband, Vincent; daughters, Amber and Allison; sisters, Diane Moore (John) and Cynthia Martin; nieces and nephews, Brittany, Danielle, Isaac, Adam, Nancy, Dianne, Lori, Danielle, Staci, Michael, Blaine, Sara and Luke; extended family; and, many special friends. She will be missed by one and all.

Dear Washington family, I am very saddened by your loss and pray you are comforted by God's hand. I was a newbie to First Colony Middle School this year, but that only lasted a week. Shelia saw me, introduced herself and quickly helped me be acclimated. From that moment on, I found a surprise in my box each week. A chocolate candy, BobCat tee shirt or any coupons or gift certificates the staff were giving out. She told me not to worry; she would take care of me. We even wore the same kind of jewelry, and we joked about it. I can still hear her high-pitched voiced saying, Hey Ms. Moore. I am truly going to miss her, but know she is living peacefully with the Father God.

In my lifetime I've never had a friend who could be more positive, happy and full of life. You had a love for life just like me. When I was told you left us, I thought it impossible. How could God take you from us. You were like a sister. You always made everything seem so beautiful even, me. The admiration we shared for each other as mommys was just wonderful and loving. You always brought sunshine into everyone's life you touched. I know this because we all loved you so, so much. Why did god take you from us makes me question my faith, the faith we shared but I can clearly hear you in my head saying, "now girl you know this wasn't god's will". I was so blessed to have you in my life a mentor, a sister from another mother. You will always be in my heart till the day I die. I will forever cherish the fun times we had and keep them close to my heart. When I think of how we'd laugh and how silly we could be together well let's just say I was just so very blessed to have such a beautiful person in my life. I love you Sheila Always Lisa
