Our dear mother Lois Michel Brown, age 93, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Friday, August 31, 2018.
She was born I New Orleans, LA. In her early years she worked for the U.S. Navy and later for the Social Security Administration as a Claims Representative. She retired after a dedicated career of 30 years. Lois enjoyed bowling, fishing, playing card and gardening. Her major joys I life revolved around her five children and beautiful grandchildren and great-children. Lois lived in Houma, LA for other thirty hears and has been a resident of Sugar Land, TX for the pas 20 year.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Billy LaMarr Brown, Sr., her parents, Gabriel and Henrietta (Oustalet) Michel and one sister, Elaine Terrell.
Lois is survived by her children, Susan Brown Brock and her husband, Curtis J. Brock, Billy LaMarr Brown, Jr. and his wife Tammy Baio Brown, Lawrence Milton Brown and his wife Shelley Clements Brown, Bonnie Brown Pennison and her husband Jay L. Pennison, Sr., and Annette Brown Murray and her husband, Ronald P. Murray. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Tiffiny Suarez (Guillermo), Dustin Brown, Ryan Brown (Tessa), Jay Pennison, Jr. (Susie), Brooke Cole (Jesus), Millicent Elb (Shawn), Sean Brown (Renee), Matthew Brock, Nikki Murray (Noe) and Emma Brown; great-grandchildren, Hollis Elb, Chloe Suarez and Lilly Pennison and her loving sister, Betty Michel Bourgeois (Wayne) and Carol Michel Guillot (Earl); sister-in-law, Terry Brown Ely (Perry) as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at St Laurence Catholic Church in Sugar Land, TX (3100 Sweetwater Blvd.) Viewing will begin at 9:00 a.m. followed by Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr., Houston, TX. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations in Lois's name be made to the Houston and Southwest Texas Alzheimer's Foundations, 2242 West Holcombe Blvd., Houston, TX 77030-2208
The family would like to thank all of Momma's caregivers that have so lovingly been there for her, especially, Moncia Almazan.
