

Steve was born in St. Louis, Missouri on August 10, 1946 to his mother and father Jeanne Beatrice and Kenneth William Ohnimus.
He earned his Doctorate in Philosophy from University of Missouri at Rolla and worked as a Petroleum Engineer for approximately 35 years for Unocal (Union Oil of California). Steve held numerous positions throughout his career for Unocal both domestic and international. A highlight of his career was his time working as General Manager in Balikpapan, Indonesia.
Steve was an avid member of many groups, such as the Sugar Creek Baptist Church, the Society of Petroleum Engineers, Chevron Retirees (Former Local President), Local Gulf Division Federal Credit Union Board, Kappa Sigma Fraternity, and a member of the Board of Directors for 10 years at Matador Resources in Dallas, Texas.
Steve also had many passions in his life, among those were being involved in Triathlons, numerous races, the MS150 10 years in a row, swimming, cycling, running, weight training, spinning, aerobics, yoga, skiing and gardening.
Steve is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Daisy Anderson Ohnimus; his daughter Lisa Ann Robitaille (Dan); his son Tim Ohnimus; his step-son Hunter Rougeou (Chandelle); and his step-son Brock Rougeou; his ex-wife Kim Kohnen (Mike); his sister Suzanne Sloan, his sister Linda Ohnimus, his brother Christopher Ohnimus, his sister-in-law Linda Schmit (Hank), his brother-in-law Jim Anderson, his brother-in-law Pat Anderson and his brother-in-law Mike Anderson; his granddaughter Maddie Robitaille, his grandson Danny Robitaille, his granddaughter Madelyn Ohnimus, his grandson Nolan Ohnimus, his granddaughter IsaBella Rougeou, his granddaughter Charlize Rougeou and his grandson Derek Rougeou.
Steve was preceded in death by his mother and father Jeanne Beatrice and Kenneth William Ohnimus.

A memorial service for Steve will be held Friday, January 13, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Sugar Creek Baptist Church - Missouri City Campus, 7555 Hwy 6, Missouri City, TX 77459.
