Tadeusz W. Siwiak

Born on June 7, 1947, in Nottingham, England, Ted was the son of Jan and Bronislawa Siwiak, Polish veterans of World War II. The family immigrated to the United States in 1956 and settled in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, where Ted grew up immersed in the traditions of the Polish-American community. He later earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Alliance College in Cambridge Springs, Pennsylvania.

Above all, Ted was a provider. He believed in working hard, helping others, and making sure the people around him were taken care of. While raising his family in Glendale, New York, he worked as a movie theater projectionist until 1989, when the family decided to move to Houston, Texas. There, Ted worked in the service industry before finishing his career with the Postal Service. His attention to detail, thoughtful preparation, and natural talent for organization served him well throughout his life and career.

But if there was one place where Ted was happiest, it was a campground. For him, camping was more than a hobby; it was a way of bringing people together. He eagerly planned trips that included not only his immediate family but also extended family, friends, and neighbors, and he was famous for his lists, which made sure every detail was accounted for. Some of the family’s most cherished memories come from their tradition of camping together at Thanksgiving, when Ted welcomed his children and grandchildren for time together in the great outdoors.

Ted will be remembered as a kind soul with a unique sense of humor. A man of few words, he showed his love for his family and friends through his loyalty and hard work.

He is survived by his loving wife, Halina Siwiak; his son Robert Siwiak; his son Marek Siwiak and daughter-in-law Monica Siwiak; his daughter Kasia Romo and son-in-law Carlos Romo; his grandchildren Tomas, Markos, and Ella Romo and Evan and Rex Siwiak; his brother Kai Siwiak and sister-in-law Ann Siwiak; and his sister Jadwiga Balzano and brother-in-law Quirino Balzano. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jan and Bronislawa Siwiak.
