

Walter "Wally" Fratt passed away peacefully, at University Place Retirement Community on August 21st, 2018 in Houston, Texas at the age of 88. Wally was born on July 26, 1930 in Burlington, WI to Seth and Martha Fratt. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Carter, Homer and David. Wally is survived by his wife Darlyne Fratt, children Kent Blessing of Houston, Mark Blessing of Lviv Ukraine, Brian Blessing of Houston, Diane Fratt Morrison of Winchester VA, David Fratt of Rosenberg TX, sister Marjorie Coughlin of Madison WI, 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Wally was a fantastic brother, father and husband and will be sorely missed.
He graduated in 1952 from Beloit College, WI where he was a member of Phi Kappa Psi fraternity received a degree in Chemistry. Wally joined and served in the Army in 1952 and later earned a Master's degree in Geology at the University of Wisconsin. He married Darlyne in 1969. Wally was a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and retired after many years with Nalco Chemical Company, during which time he and his family lived in Oklahoma City, OK, Richardson, TX and Missouri City, TX.
In high school and college, Wally was active in track and field, and his college relay team won the renowned Drake Relay Race. Wally loved music. He sang in high school and college choirs and later, church choirs and barbershop groups. Wally and Darlyne are members of Southminster Presbyterian Church Missouri City. He devoted years of faithful service to the local Human Needs Ministry and Food Bank.
