
William B. Cotie, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2024, at the age of 77. Born in Houston, TX, on June 19, 1946, Benny lived a life marked by dedication, love, and service.
Benny graduated from South Park High School in Beaumont, TX, before proudly serving his country in the U.S. Army. His commitment to service and his community was evident throughout his life.
He was the devoted husband of 51 years to his cherished wife, Dianne Cotie, building a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering commitment. Their bond was an inspiration to all who knew them. Benny was a loving father to Ashley, Kenneth, Caron, and Mark. He took immense pride in their achievements and was a constant source of support and guidance. His love and dedication extended to his nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, who brought him endless joy and whom he adored deeply.
Benny's life was marked by kindness, generosity, and the profound impact he had on his family and friends. His legacy will continue through the values he instilled in his loved ones and the countless memories shared. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
William Cotie is preceded in death by his parents, Bly and Bernard Cotie.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dianne Cotie; daughters, Caron Cotie and Ashley Cotie; sons, Kenneth Cotie and spouse Angela, and Mark Cotie and spouse Heather; sister, Joy and spouse Frank Danna; brothers, Michael Cotie and spouse Susan, and Phillip Cotie and spouse Barbara; nine grandchildren: Kayla Krekowski, Paige Wiley, Alexis Dawn Cotie, Zachary Cotie, Caitlyn Cotton, Joseph Cotie, Kenneth Cotie, Jr., Blane Cotie, and Cheyenne Cotie; and four great-grandchildren: Connor Wiley, William Wiley, Lilly Krekowski, and Wesley Krekowski, who brought him endless joy and whom he adored deeply.
The family invites friends and loved ones to join them in celebrating William's life on Friday, June 21, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Shafer Funeral Home, 600 N. John Redditt Drive, Lufkin, Texas.
