Alton Joseph Pago

He was a native and lifelong resident of Sulphur. Married to his sweetheart for 77 years, their love grew a family of over 100+. Alton loved his family and cherished his time with each of them, especially the babies in his golden years. He always listened to Sulphur High's football game on the radio. You could find him cleaning his shotgun while watching an old western and drinking coffee. Late into his 90's, Alton would be seen riding his bike to his favorite shopping spots; Care-help and the pawn shops. Up until the very end, he was witnessed tending to his Bride; making sure her feet were covered and she wasn't cold and she was comfortable.

Survivors include his wife of 77 years, Gladys Bertrand Pago of Sulphur; his children, Bruce Pago and wife, Ruth of Sulphur, Sandy Perkins and husband, Mark of Orange, Texas, and Kim Pago of Sulphur; his brother, T.J. Pago of Sulphur; seventeen grandchildren; fifty great-grandchildren; and thirty-six great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Filogene and Paula Pago; his daughters, Brenda Robinson and Carolyn "Connie" Jacobs; and his siblings, Mary Chaisson, Sybil LeDoux, Hammy Joseph Pago, Sr., Vernon James "Buddy" Pago, and Eugene Pago.
