Auborn "Gale" Cole

Gale was a teacher for over 40 years, retiring from W.T. Henning Elementary School. She was a lifelong Southern Baptist attending First Baptist Church in Sulphur and later Maplewood First Baptist Church where she was actively devoted to the Samaritan’s Purse ministries. She was an avid reader and loved being outdoors in her flower garden.

She is survived by her children, Cara Dawn Millay and husband, Kevin of Houston, Texas, Marcia Faith Underwood of Kathleen, Georgia, and Christopher Cole Underwood and wife, Laura of Cypress, Texas; grandchildren Kaci Bryant, Kylie Hindman, Amber Romano, Austin Bradley, Katherine Underwood, Elizabeth Underwood, and Victoria Underwood; great-grandchildren, Livvie Dawson, Chloe Dawson, Charli Romano, Irelyn Romano and a great-grandbaby on the way; along with a nephew, Geary McCarty and wife, Rachel of Mesquite, Texas.

A private memorial service was held for family. Service was officiated by Hixson Celebrant Jody Tyler. Burial was at Farquhar Cemetery in Carlyss. Words of comfort and expressions of sympathy can be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhome.com.
