Barbara Ellen Landry, 86, of Sulphur, Louisiana passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She was born to her late parents, Emile and Beatrice Smith on February 4, 1938 in Sunset, Louisiana. She retired from Fontenot Plumbing and then in her later years, Barbara was a proud owner of Les Amis Quilt Shop. She enjoyed arts and crafts, painting, cooking, and a true passion of her's was quilting. Barbara loved spending time with her friends and family, who she loved very much. Before her husband Burns passed, they were very active in the annual reunion of the U.S.N. Bon Homme Richard aircraft carrier Alumni.
She is survived by her son, Bryan Landry (Shirley) of Sulphur, Louisiana; daughter-in-law, Amy Landry of Sulphur, Louisiana; four grandchildren, Tyler Landry, Glenda Cormier, Scott Patterson, Pat Patterson; eight great grandchildren; along with twelve great-great grandchildren.
Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, Burns "Red" Landry; along with her son, Bob Landry; along with her parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church in Sulphur, Louisiana on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at 10:00 am, with Father John Welch officiating. Visitation will be at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial on Monday, April 29, 2024, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, with a Rosary at 6:00 pm. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 8:30 am until the procession to the church. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery in Sulphur, Louisiana.
