Beatrice M. Roger
August 14, 1930 – August 2, 2018
Beatrice Martin Roger, 87, passed away with her family at her side on August 2, 2018.
She has resided in Sulphur/Westlake area for over 70 years. She was an active member of St. John Bosco Catholic Church serving in the Ladies Altar Society, Rosary group, Catholic Daughters of America and Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary. Beatrice was a devout Catholic, every year she and her late husband hosted an outside Mass for family and friends followed by a meal and fellowship. She adored her grandchildren and loved spending time with them. Beatrice loved cooking for family, reading, working in her yard and garden. She will be remembered for her strong faith and her love of sharing her life stories with others.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Lorraine Deel, Sydney Roger and Steven Roger (Becky) all of Sulphur; 11 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Stephen Joseph Roger; two sons, Cleveland and Leeward Roger; and 9 siblings.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held, 1pm, Monday, August 6, 2018 in St. John Bosco Catholic Church of Westlake. Father Mike Barras will officiate. Burial will follow in Magnolia Cemetery in Westlake. Visitation will be held Sunday, 12 - 9pm with a recitation of the Rosary at 6pm and resume Monday 8am - 12:15pm in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home.
