She was a native of Cameron and had been a resident of Sulphur for over 70 years. Bertha was a longtime member of Henning Memorial United Methodist Church. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include her son, Donald Drost and wife, Debra of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, daughter in law Betty Lou Drost; three grandsons, Jack Donald Drost, Daniel Drost, and William Drost; and seven great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Donald Drost; son, Kenneth Drost; and siblings, Jim Mudd, Dora Welch, Harmon Mudd, and Ben Mudd.
A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 24, at Dutch Cove Cemetery in Carlyss under the direction of Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. The Rev. Doug Cain will officiate. Visitation is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
