Buddy worked as a heavy equipment operator for over 40 years and retired from Olin/Lyondell. Buddy loved hunting, fishing, and drinking beer. He spent his free time at Toledo Bend. Buddy had a huge heart, was a wonderful husband, a great father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dick and Roberta Dickerson, brother, Eugene Dickerson, and sisters, Mildred Whitaker, Shirley Barger, and Mary "Sister" Slaydon.
Buddy is survived by his loving wife, Annie Dickerson; daughter, Melody E. Dickerson; son, Scott Dickerson and wife, Lauri; son, Marlin Glen Dickerson; seven grandchildren, Justin Thomas, Krissi Thomas, Allie Dickerson, Marlee Dickerson, Sean Dickerson, Kourtney Monceaux, and Stefani Dickerson; a sister, Peggy Dickerson Shattuck; brothers, Jerry Wayne Dickerson and wife, Betty Ruth and Gary Lynn Dickerson; and 4 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home and will resume at 8:00 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 30, 2021 at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Chapel. Celebrant, Jody Barrilleaux will lead services. Burial will follow in Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss.
