To Gemma Love, Cassie’s family and Adam,
My name is Jennifer Gourd. I met Cassie and Precious Gemma almost exactly 2 years ago. She and Gemma came to Oklahoma and we were fortunate to meet them. Gemma is an unbelievably sweet soul and although I only got two days with her, I will cherish them. She touched my soul. Cassie did as well. She was so young and trying. It was so obvious to someone who never knew Cassie how much she loved her baby. Cassie is an angel resting high on that mountain and she won’t be forgotten. You don’t know me but your Cassie and Gemma touched my heart. I won’t forget either. Rest In Peace Cassie. I know I will run into you and Gemma again someday and you’ll be happy as you were when we first met and together again.
With sincerest love, pain and grace, Jennifer Gourd

I got pictures of some of Gemma’s biggest smiles when she was with her mommy. I will cherish those pictures and forever have love for her for giving me the biggest blessing in my life.

Cassie was the type to light you a room when she walked in. She was always herself weather you liked her or not she wasn’t going to change. I remember her a little when we were younger but when she came back in high school it’s like she never left. She fit in perfectly with our class and got along with everyone. She was always smiling and laughing. And even tho we barely talked anymore I am sure if I would have texted her needed her help or just wanting to talk or hang out she would have cause that the type of person she was. I remember she always wanted to go somewhere or go do something. We use to always have a great time anytime we were working at Rod and Gun together. And our adventures we would take after work. We had some great memories together and my biggest regret was letting life get in the way and not reconnecting with her. You will truly be missed. I love you girl, fly high!!

Cassie and I shared many great memories together. She moved to Hackberry our junior year of high school and we instantly clicked. Cassie was the type of person who would do anything for the people she loved, but she also had this amazing quality about her where she didn’t care what others thought and she was always her true self.

We shared many memories while we worked together at Hackberry Rod & Gun in the kitchen for about two years. We were always goofing off and cracking jokes. We had the same sense of humor so we got each other. We used to always listen to Eminem while we were sweeping and cleaning up. We knew all the words to every song on his album “The Eminem Show.” I cannot listen to many of these songs without thinking of her and tearing up but I know she’s singing along with me all the time now.

One of my favorite memories was in high school one night when we decided to go hangout with some guy friends. Cassie and I were in the backseat of the truck and the guys were in the front. Her and I were talking and cracking up and as I was laughing, my gum fell out of my mouth and went straight into the seatbelt hole and was stuck. We were dying laughing but we couldn’t say anything because these guys were obsessed with the truck. We never told anyone and my gum is probably still in that seatbelt hole to this day. After I lost my gum, I was sad and Cassie proceeded to offer me the gum in her mouth that she was chewing LOL. It was a funny gesture but it is just another example of how she would do anything for people she loved without even hesitating.

I am praying for the family and her sweet baby as they all deal with this tragedy. Such a sweet soul that impacted everyone she met.
