He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Betty Trahan Quesnel; son, Mark Quesnel and his wife Brenda of Sulphur, Louisiana; two daughters, Lisa Frey and her husband Jody of Sulphur, Louisiana and Leah Quesnel-Bruce and her husband Britton of Lafayette, Louisiana; grandchildren, Brooke Pleasant, Cathryn Frey-Keeley, Whitney Frey, and Ethan Bruce; along with his great-grandchildren, Cameron Quesnel, Jackson Pleasant, Arden Pleasant, Anderson Pleasant, Addyson Pleasant, William Keeley, and Camden Keeley.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents; and his granddaughter, Jenna Quesnel.
Even though he will always be missed and his passing leaves a large hole in our lives, try to smile and not cry when you think of him. Chuck, Mr. Chuck, Dad, Daddy, Bear-Bear, Bear, Sugar Bear, etc. would not want you sad. He would fuss at us for crying now. He was a joyful, loving person and he would want us to remember all the good times spent with him and laugh with joy for a long life well-lived.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sulphur, Louisiana on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at 11:00 am, with Father Timothy Goodly officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday at 9:30 am, followed by a Rosary at 10:30 am, followed by the Mass at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Mimosa Pines South Cemetery in Carlyss, Louisiana.
