Born on June 8, 1945, to John and Gloria Dixon at the United States Marine Corps base in Barstow, California, Char was a lifelong resident of the Maplewood-Sulphur area. She attended Maplewood Elementary School, Maplewood Middle School, and Sulphur High School where she graduated in 1962.
Char enjoyed a successful career as a Realtor-Broker with Moffett Realty, where she worked for more than 25 years before retiring. She was an active member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Sulphur, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, and the Louisiana Realtors Association. Char had a passion for teaching real estate classes, scrapbooking, and spending time with her family, friends, and her beloved great-grand dogs. Most of all, she cherished the time she spent travelling and making memories with her best friend and husband of 61 years, Robert.
Those left to cherish her memory are her granddaughter, Kennedy Rae' Hebert (August Breaux); her sister, Cathy Marcantel; her son-in-law, Dean Peloquin; her sisters-in-law, Gladys Roya, Judy Bishop, and Carolyn "Sue" Hebert; and numerous nieces/nephews, great-nieces/nephews, great-great-nieces/nephews, and other extended family members.
Char was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Hebert; her children, Glenn "Bear" Hebert and Stacy Hebert-Peloquin; her parents, John and Gloria Dixon; her parents-in-law, Isaac and Emily Hebert; and her brothers-in-law, Ray Hebert, Frank Bishop, Joey Marcantel, and Loren Williams III.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on September 4, 2026, at the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 1401 Argin Street, Sulphur, Louisiana. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service at the church.
Honorary pallbearers are August Breaux, Christopher Jones, Timothy Miller, Gavin Robinson, Joseph Miller, David Underwood, and Dean Peloquin.
