Chuck "Duck" Samaniego, age 68, of Sulphur, Louisiana went to his Eternal Home on Monday, August 31, 2020. Chuck affectionally known as "Duck" was born in Chicago, Illinois and was a lifelong resident of Sulphur. Chuck was married to his High School sweetheart for 48 years and had four children.
Chuck was a veteran of the U.S. Navy where he proudly served his country for 4 years. Throughout his life he worked as a boilermaker ending his career as a Draftsman. Chuck was an avid guitar player and enjoyed writing poetry, song writing, and coin collecting. In his spare time he loved woodworking and sharing his talent with family and friends bearing us with gifts to cherish his memory for years to come. Chuck was always full of jokes and funny stories. Always the life of any party. He will be truly missed. Chuck was a one of a kind husband, father, and friend.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Bonnie Nell Samaniego; parents, Adolf and Margaret Samaniego.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Marilyn Samaniego and their four children: son, Brian Samaniego; daughter, Annette McClenahan and husband, Ryan; son, David Samaniego; 8 grandchildren, Emily, Karyn, and Ethan Samaniego, Chandler, Jaron, and Madelyn McClenahan, and Aubrey and Sophia Samaniego; brother-in-law, Dan Miller and wife, Thonetta; and brother-in-law, Jim Miller; sisters-in-law, Ruby Gillespie and husband, Darryl, Barbara Francis, Pat Kinsey, and Linda Short and husband, Ed; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home.
Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Chapel. Rev. Michael Linton will officiate. Burial will follow in Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Sulphur.
