He was a native of Robeline and had been a resident of Sulphur for the last 22 years. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, the Order of the Eastern Star-Love Chapter #209, and was also a member of the Shriners, Masonic Lodge #424, and past Master of Masonic Peace and Harmony Lodge. Danny Joe was one-of-a kind. He was a loving, funny, people person who enjoyed living life to the fullest. He cherished his trips to visit his family in Kansas and to fish. He was an avid antique collector, but his most prized possessions were his loving wife, children, grandchildren, family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Karen Kaye Daniels of Sulphur; his children, Brian Sean Daniels and Leslie Nicole Daniels, both of Silsbee, Texas, and Todd Eric Daniels of Sulphur; his step-children, Kristy Como and husband, Doug, Brent Peveto and wife, Alice, and Jeremey Mancuso and wife, Marlana, all of Sulphur; two brothers, Carroll Daniels and wife, Shasta and James Daniels and wife, Joan, all of Robeline; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gary and Shirley Long; twenty grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews who were all his favorites. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dan and Lois Daniels; and a grandson, Colton Peveto.
On Monday, January 16, 2017 there will be a visitation from 3-9 pm at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home in Sulphur. There will be a visitation from 12-2 pm on Tuesday, January 17, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Many with services to follow at 2pm. The Bishop Jared Vincent will be officiating. There will be a graveside ceremony on Wednesday, January 18, at Mimosa Pines Cemetery South in Carlyss under the direction of Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Dan Daniels, Todd Dillon Daniels, Geoffrey Como, Kyle Peveto, Lane Methvin and Phillip Daniels. Honorary Pallbearers will be Colby Daniels, Justin Daniels, Trent Daniels, Trevor Daniels, Chance Loftin, Dalton LeBlanc and Dylan LeBlanc.
