A lifelong resident of Sulphur, Don graduated from Sulphur High School before serving honorably in the U.S. Army. After his military service, he returned home he and Dianne married, and he began a career in the petroleum inspection industry. He worked for Charles Martin Inspection Company before founding his own business, T&J Petroleum Inspectors, where he remained until his retirement. Don’s true passion was life on the farm. He spent most of his life raising cattle and enjoying the simple, hardworking lifestyle that came with it.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Cynthia Dianne Lyons of Sulphur; his brother, Terry Lyons of Bradenton, Florida; and his sister, Joan Routon of Sulphur. He is preceded in death by his parents, Amos and Jeniel Lyons.
