Dorothy Derouen, 93, passed away on May 30, 2026. She was a lifelong resident of Sulphur, born on June 23, 1932. Dorothy loved to sing and dance. She also enjoyed sewing and cooking. But her passion was her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years, William Derouen; parents, Walter and Louise Monceaux; and sister, Pauline McFarlain.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children: Sandi Drost and husband, Skipper of Lake Charles; son, Stuart Derouen of Sulphur; son, Steven Derouen and wife, Linda; 10 grandchildren: Melissa Crabtree, Blake Derouen, Tatiana Derouen, Ruby Dunlap, William Derouen, Lily Jo Nunez, Mathew Derouen, Mallory Derouen, Casey Greenwood, and Jessica Peters; as well as 5 great-grandchildren: Joslyn Derouen, Chloe Crabtree, Lexi Peters, Cade Peters and Talyn Derouen.
Visitation will be held at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home, on June 2, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and again on June 4, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. The funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home on June 4, 2026. Deacon Patrick LaPoint will officiate. Burial will follow at Mimosa-Pines South Cemetery in Carlyss.
Pallbearers will be Mike Myers, Everett Greenwood, Blake Derouen, and William Derouen.
