Dot was such a sweet southern lady! We always enjoyed visiting with her! She came to our church Calvary Baptist and sang “Long Black Train”” with a group! They did a great job! Will be praying God gives this family strength!!

Jennifer, Joey, Jeff, & Johnathan,

Our family sure loved Aunt Dot. It meant so much to us for her to be with us when we lost Mama. She was, as always, a beautiful ray of sunshine. I enjoyed our talks and catching up. (She was VERY proud of her kids and grands.)

Thinking back the last couple days reminded me of several funny memories with Aunt Dot. Before joining our family, she was always up for a sleepover, and we’d sit up all through the night laughing and talking. One memory really stood out and brought laughter through my tears.

We always picked with Mamow concerning the weight of feathers versus lead. Mamow firmly believed a ton of feathers was lighter than a ton of lead. Imagine the laughter when we learned Aunt Dot believed it, too. You could NOT convince those two that a ton was a ton, regardless of the materials. They believed you could move that ton of feathers, but you definitely couldn’t the ton of lead. Aunt Dot laughed just as hard as the rest of us, but she stood her ground.

We had many laughs, family dinners, and holidays with Aunt Dot. She was and shall always be our family. Thank you for sharing your precious mother with us. If I were to thank her for one thing, it would be for being a great mother to my brother, James Ray.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you during your time of great loss. I believe our time on this earth is short, so it won’t be long that we’ll hear her laughter again and see her beautiful face, changed and glorious as she shines in heaven. God bless you and keep you!!

We love you, Aunt Dot. See you soon. ♥️
