Eldridge was born in Port Arthur, TX, and lived in Carlyss since 1963. He retired from Firestone in 1982 after 38 years of service. He enjoyed carpentry, furniture making, fishing and working with his hands. He loved spending time at his camp on West Fork with family and friends. He was a member of the American Legion.
Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years, Virginia Armentor; daughters, Elnette Tolbert and her husband Michael of Sulphur, and Deborah Gayle and her husband Paul of Carlyss; sons, Charles Armentor and his wife Doris of Moss Bluff, Timmy Armentor and his wife Vicki, of Katy, TX, and Raymond "Coon' Armentor of Carlyss; sisters, Wanda Faye Thompson, Ruth Ann Bushnell, Dorothy Smith, Rena Dewitt, Virginia Brown, Fern Foster, Ramona Williams, Patsy Brown and Shirley Jensen; 14 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his son, Eldridge "Ricky" Armentor, Jr.; and parents, Leon Armentor and Lucy LeDoux.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 27, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery.
