

She was a native of Sunset and had been a resident of Sulphur since 1922. She was a member of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church and was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America for over 70 years. Etie worked with her husband in the Gaston Theriot Grocery store and served as chairman for Calcasieu Cameron Parish Fair for 30 years. She and her husband Adolph served as King and Queen of the Krewe of Cosmos in 1954.
Survivors include her children, Marlene Liles of Moss Bluff and Ronald Ray Lopez and wife, Peggy of Moses Lake, Washington; three grandchildren, Necole Barrois and husband, Donald, Ron Travis Lopez and wife, Christie, and Keith Liles and wife, Christine; six great-grandchildren, Alexandra Liles, Victoria Liles, Tyler Barrois, Samantha Barrois, Gunner West, and Payne West. She is preceded in death by her husband, Adolph Lopez; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Stelly, Sr. (Mathilda) and her siblings, Delton Stelly, Overton Stelly, Milton Stelly, James Charles Stelly, Maurice Stelly Jr, Melvin Stelly, Edith Bourgeois, Thelma Duhon, Annabelle LeBlanc, Regina LeBlanc, and Marie Rentrop.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 28, in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church. The Rev. Edward Richard will officiate. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery South in Carlyss under the direction of Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be held in the funeral home from 4-9 p.m. Friday with a rosary service at 7 p.m. and from 8:30 a.m. Saturday.
