He was a native of Sulphur and a member of the Iron Workers Locals 678 and 710. He served in the US Navy from 1959 until 1963. He was a member of American Legion Post 179. He loved fishing and gathering around a table with friends to talk about old times. He really loved his grandkids.
He is survived by his loving wife Elvira Duplechan; sons Eugene Dale Duplechan, Jr. and his wife Beverly of New Jersey; Silvio Duplechan and his fiance Gina of Marlton, New Jersey; Paul Duplechan of Sulphur and Glenn Duplechan and his wife Jennifer of Sulphur; sisters Beverly Denton of Sulphur and Rita Duplechan Prewitt of Texas; and 6 grandchildren Silvio, Jr, Dillon, Emily, Nina, Amanda and Sebastian.
His funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday, March 16, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Deacon Maurice Serice will officiate. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery South in Carlyss. Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. Saturday with a rosary at 7 p.m. and from 10-2 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
